Welcome! My name is Sharifa, a millennial stay at home mom of three little kids and a wife to an amazing husband.

I was born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and I currently live with my husband and our children in Montreal, Canada.
Before moving to Canada, we have lived in the San Francisco Bay area for a year.

In Amsterdam, I was a fulltime working mom in the corporate world. My parents were surprised when I decided to have a corporate career; they always expected me to do something creative in the fashion world.

At the age of thirteen, I was signed to one of Amsterdam’s leading modeling agencies. I loved wearing fashion and posing for a camera, but the thing I loved most was showing the clothes on a catwalk.

Whether it was a bridal show or haute couture, I loved the excitement backstage and walking on that catwalk.

Fueled by that excitement of walking on the catwalk, it woke my interest to compete in pageants. The whole show and journey around it, I really wanted to experience that.

Back in the days’ the pageant and the modeling scene were two completely different worlds, so there is no way my booker at my agency would allow me to compete.

I still followed my heart, and in my twenties, I decided to compete in pageants.
That journey resulted in having two national titles, and I had the honor to compete on an international stage twice. This was an experience of a lifetime one I still cherish today.

I believe that my experience as a model and a pageant queen made me fall in love with all things style, and beauty. And my experience as a pageant queen made me appreciate all the beauty other cultures have to offer and making genuine connections.

When we moved abroad, I had to pause my career in the corporate world, and I became a stay at home mom because of visa restrictions. Watching other women share their passion for style online, I wanted to give it a try, and I started dreaming of having my own blog.

I must admit it took me a very long time to actually make it happen.
I slowly started with my Instagram account, where I would share my style in showing different outfits. I have also connected with a lot of style and beauty-loving ladies on Instagram, and I must say I really enjoy the community over there. Make sure to connect with me on that platform as well!

Since I love to share my thoughts, and you are a bit limited on other social media channels, I decided it was time to have this blog.

On this blog, I will be sharing my personal style with you, and I will also give you a little glimpse of my life abroad. I like to share fabulous sales finds, and I tend to mix and match. You will see me splurge on certain investment items, but I also love some basics from the Zara or H&M.

But most of all, I would like to create a positive community for like-minded women. I love to connect with people, so if you have any questions, suggestions, or specific topics you would like me to cover, please reach out to me and just send me an email or leave me a comment.

I am fluent in Dutch (mother tongue), Sranan Tongo (mother tongue) and English, and I can manage myself in basic French, Spanish, and German.
