My love for designer sunglasses

I am a substantial designer sunglasses fan! I started collecting them in my teens. I have sunglasses from many different brands, but Celine sunglasses are by far one of my favorites. The question I get a lot is: are Celine sunglasses worth it? As in, are they worth the splurge?

Let’s just say I think Celine sunglasses are worth the splurge. Not only are the pieces very classic they are also a super statement. Celine sunglasses are investment items, and when splurging on things like this, I always consider cost per wear.

The history of Celine

Before diving into the sunglasses, let’s just give you a little background on Celine. Celine is a French ready-to-wear and leather luxury goods brand owned by the LVMH group. Founded by Celine Vipiana and her husband Richard in 1945, the brand is well known for its beautiful handbags, clothing, and sunglasses. The sunglasses are worn by many celebrities like Gigi Hadid, and Reese Witherspoon, to name a few.

Why are Celine sunglasses so popular?

So let’s get back to the sunnies. They are an investment piece, so I understand why people ask: Are Celine sunglasses worth it? I call them investment pieces because of the price tag, and if you pick the right frame, you will be able to wear them year after year (cost per wear). Celine glasses are just the timeless, perfect must-have piece.

I prefer my sunnies; the bigger, the better! Let me just start by saying that I have allergies, so sunnies come in handy when allergy season is in full swing. Next to my allergy excuse, I am just extra; there is something so glam about a big pair of sunnies.

Can you find Celine sunglasses for a discounted price?

Celine sunglasses are totally worth it. If you don’t want to pay the hefty price, there are some ways.

When I was living in the US, I sometimes came across some fantastic Celine sunglasses in the Nordstrom Rack. I have never spotted them online, but who knows, you can always give it a try.

Let me dive into the current models I own and that are on my wishlist:

The frames you need in your Celine Sunglasses collection are the square shield sunglasses (they currently come in different colors) and the Celine gradient butterfly sunglasses. These frames might look so different, but they are classic statement Celine sunglasses that you can wear all year long and won’t be out of style soon because they are classics.

These sunnies I bought at Trend Savvy an online company that is not in business anymore unfortunately. They had the best designer sunglasses collection! The green and pink frames are statements and a bit different than what I usually wear. In the spring and summer, I wear lots of prints and colors, and I can easily style these frames with my outfits.

There are so many other frames currently on my wish list, or as you can see in this video that I own. I have selected a few for you.

My oldest pair of Celine sunglasses are more than 4 years old, and I still wear them a lot. To answer the question, are Celine sunglasses worth it? I would say they definitely are! It is an investment statement piece you won’t regret.
